2008 October 23Comic: Monkey T.V.

I didn’t even have to go out for beer. One of the lighting guys was climbing up the fire escape to adjust a highlight spot that was mounted up on the third floor landing, and I asked him what the production was. Sidney Lumet is directing a pilot for tv a show called 100 Center Street. I did put on some Black Sabbath, but at a fairly modest volume.
At this very moment there is a film crew in the convenience store downstairs. Every time I hear all the assistants yell rolling, I am tempted to start stomping around, blasting black sabbath, or both. Though the inside of the place is really gray and dim, the outside of the market has one of those beautiful yellow and red scalloped awnings. I wonder if they will get any exterior shots of it. I’m going to have to go get some beer at the convenience store on the other corner, and I will ask what the name of the movie is when I do.
Today I came across a foxy picture of the actress who played lily on the munsters, and started searching for more. I ended up finding a pretty extensive webring devoted to the addams family knockoff. I scored a few good pix of fred gwynne who I think just died recently. Later, after work, I went to meet some friends at a bar and there was this short guy playing pool in the back that instantly struck me as a buff, rockabilly eddie munster. A few hours passed in the bar and we were on our way out when the munsters theme came on the juke box. It’s a surfy sounding tune that is unmistakable, but for some reason I was confused and was passing it off as the addams family theme. Then I remembered, addams family goes: dah-nu-nu-nant, snap-snap, dah-nu-nu-nant. I got chills.
